Spofford Station lies a stones throw south of the Oregon-Washington line, nestled in the Wineshed of the Blue Mountains. We get great ventilation and air circulation. The plants are in deep soils that warm up rapidly in the spring and stay warm in the fall. We have long days of sun and hot weather interrupted by moderate rains. Located on an historic railroad line, Spofford Station is still used as a grain storage elevator. Almost daily, the Grain Train comes into the station. The train cars are loaded with soft white wheat. The train takes the wheat to a container barge at the Wallula Junction and down the Columbia River through the system of dams. It goes out the Port of Portland and is off to Asia.

It is all infused with passion As in all real estate the key phrase is location, location, location .
Nowadays the emphasis is on what’s new or flashy. We are decidedly old fashioned. Our ultimate goal is to capture the essence of the land where the grapes are grown. Spofford Station is a millennium vineyard with hundreds of years of history behind it. For generations the land was used for wheat and pea rotations so the years have deposited rich wealth in fertility. This is our first big statement in tying the land to our region. Glimpses of the past can be found in the gently, rolling hills of Spofford Station. We are a part of the diverse agriculture and history of the valley. This is the root of our quality and individuality.
Earth, Wind, Fire, Water Terrior is the stuff that combines soil, sun, site and water. We are part farmer and part Feng Shui.
